Tormek is dedicated to sharpening! Following in the Swedish tradition of innovation, functionality and quality, Tormek has developed an effective sharpening system for tools. The versatile and effective system is highly regarded by professional craftsmen and enthusiasts worldwide.
With the Tormek Drill Bits Sharpening Attachment DBS-22, you can now sharpen your drill bits (3-22 mm) with the highest precision. The optimal point can be set according to each drilling requirement, which depends upon the drill size and material. You can completely restore worn drills as well as broken drills to a perfect shape.
The new Tormek Diamond Wheels offer exceptional durability plus the ability to sharpen on the side as well as the periphery. The new diamond wheels come in three different grades; Coarse, Fine, and Extra Fine. The quality of the diamond surface provides a high and constant sharpening ability and a grinding wheel that always remains full size in diameter. Users who frequently sharpen the same tool will benefit greatly from this feature as it simplifies both setting and sharpening. Diamond is the world's hardest material and almost twice as hard as cubic boron nitride (CBN), which is another commonly used abrasive. The diamond's extreme hardness and durability make it the optimal material for sharpening.
The Tormek LA-120 Profiled leather Honing Wheel accessory removes the burr and polishes the inside on turning and carving gouges and V-tools. It has two exchangeable discs, one with a 1/8" (3mm) radius and the other with a 60º point. Features: Profiled Leather Honing Wheel with two exchangeable discs Hones and polishes inside turning and carving gouges and V-tools For use with the Tormek T-7 and T-3
It is not without reason this jig is named "Multi Jig". It consists of a housing and two interchangeable seats for different types of tools, the open seat and the closed seat, which really makes it two jigs in one.
The honing compound is used together with the Tormek Leather Honing Wheels. The unique qualities of the leather together with the honing compound will effectively remove the burr created from sharpening, without damaging the edge. At the same time, it will also polish the bevel to the finest finish. The honing compound contains a combination of micro-abrasives and polishing components (average grain size 3 micron). One application lasts for about 5–10 tools. Work the honing compound into the leather. The leather honing wheel will become saturated and more efficient the more you use it. When you have a new honing wheel, impregnate it first with a light machine oil so that it gets the right texture and can absorb the honing compound. If you work in a dry climate, you might need to re-impregnate the honing wheel after some time with a few drops of oil before you apply the fresh honing compound. Do not let the compound dry, apply more oil if necessary.
The Tormek Original Grindstone has evolved over the years to offer the best combination of efficient steel removal, smooth surface finish and long life. SG-250 is delivered as standard with Tormek T-8.
Tormek Blackstone Silicon has been developed for shaping and sharpening* HSS and other exotic alloyed steels. It can also touch up tungsten carbide. It does not offer faster steel removal on ordinary carbon steel than the Tormek Original Grindstone. The combination of abrasive hardness, shape and grain size is optimized to work efficiently at the Tormek system’s low RPM. Its faster material removal is an advantage especially when shaping tools with a large bevel surface, where the grinding pressure is limited, for example, planer blades and woodturning skews. The grit size 220 is the same as the Tormek Original Grindstone and can be altered to work like a 1000 grit stone with the Stone Grader SP-650. Thanks to its sharp and relatively small grains, the Blackstone removes hard steel efficiently even at low grinding pressure. It can even touch up tungsten carbide, where the tool already has an established shape.
With the SE-77 Square Edge Jig, it is easy to set your wood chisels and plane irons for sharpening to a square corner. The design gives you the best conditions for a successful sharpening with the highest precision over the final result. You can also set the jig for a slightly convex shape.
The Tormek Original Grindstone has evolved over the years to offer the best combination of efficient steel removal, smooth surface finish, and long life. SG-200 is delivered as standard with Tormek T-4. The best all-round grindstone This grinding stone is the ideal choice when you want both efficient steel removal and a fine finish in the same stone over a wide variety of materials, from carbon steel to high-speed steel. It works with all types of tools and steel qualities including HSS.
With the Stone Grader SP-650 you can change the grit size of the Tormek original grindstone to give a finer sharpening surface. The other side of the Stone grader is used to maintain the grindstone, bringing new abrasive grains to the surface for effective sharpening.
With the Tool Rest, you get an extended support surface from the Universal Support. It is ideal for sharpening turning scrapers and special tools for woodcarving, e.g. large scorps and inshaves. You can also use it for cabinet scrapers and hollowing tools. It has a generous surface, 90×110 mm, which permits a safe and steady positioning of the tool towards the stone. The bore is made with a special wedge shape, which increases the locking force by 250 %. You can lock the Tool Rest instantly at the chosen angle. This unique design is patented by Tormek.
The Tormek T-8 sharpening machine proves that simplicity and precision can be perfectly integrated into a powerful and versatile system. This water-cooled sharpening system gives you the best conditions possible for a successful sharpening with top results. The Tormek T-8 is ideal for quality-conscious do-it-yourselfers as well as professionals.
If your grindstone has become uneven, it is easily fixed with the Tormek Diamond Truing and Dressing Tool TT-50. It will make your stone perfectly round and flat again. Redesigned version 2019 This new design is made in cast zinc, which minimises the play and improves the precision and quality of the tool. Easy feeding across the stone You conveniently feed the diamond cutter across the stone by alternately turning the two knobs with both your hands. Thanks to the controlled feed, you get an even and flat stone surface with no ridges.
