Parting Tool's are used to part the finished project off from the waste material, the parallel sides make for a rigid tool that handles well. The ⅛" – 3mm tool reduces the amount of waste, vital if using an expensive wood. It also makes for a fine detailing tool, e.g. beads and fillets.

The 6″ Medium-Duty Steel Bar Clamp from Jorgensen is designed with home crafters, woodworkers, cabinet-makers, and metalworkers in mind. The Steel Bar Clamp features a 2.5″ reach and has a threaded sliding-head design to accommodate the screw and allow for easy opening and closing. The steel bars are plated, round-edged, and rust-resistant. The screw is made from cold cut steel and features ACME style threads and a varnished hardwood handle. The clamp’s casting is made from iron and is finished in an orange power coat. The multiple clutch disc is comprised of two clutch discs and a clutch spring to securely hold at any point along the bar.

Roughing Gouges are recommended for the initial turning of uneven or square spindle stock to round. The shape of the spindle roughing gouge enables the tool to cut safely with the wings (the tips of the side walls) well back from the workpiece. Not designed for use on bowl grain projects.

NOVA uses an easy and inexpensive insert/adaptor system on all its NOVA chucks (apart from chucks that are directly threaded) The insert has different lathe spindle thread sizes internally, and simply screws into the back of your NOVA chucks. Tips for customizing the soft jaws: •It is recommended to use a scraper that is about 1/2" wide, with an end that is 90° to the side of the scraper. It will cut on both sides and on the end. •Recommended bevel angle is about 70 degrees. •When scraping nylon, the tool rest must be as close to the work as possible and you must always use a light touch. •Run your lathe at a speed between 1700 and 2000 rpm for best cutting. •You must take extra care when machining the jaws so as not to hit to hit the screw heads.
