JET began as a small dealer of manual chain hoists and trolleys; sold from a single hardware store in Tacoma, Washington. Over the years, JET has carried everything from electric chain hoists to air hoists. Beginning in the 70's JET introduced a full line of industrial air tools and material handling products which included paving breakers, backfill tampers and forklifts.
By the early '80s, as JET continued to grow, metalworking products became their core business line. 5 years later, JET launched its woodworking product category rounding out their product categories.
In the '90s, JET grew from being just an importer of high-quality machines and tools from the Far East to designing and manufacturing its own products in the Far East to its own specifications.
The Jet 701 Benchtop Morticer features an in-line depth stop which allows the user to stop at preset depths without racking the mortiser bit to the base. Its heavy-duty reversible handle is so versatile that it can be changed from one side to the other quickly and easily and requires no tools to do so. The stock hold down features a specially designed double lock system. One locks from the side, the other locks from the top, to completely eliminate any slippage when removing the chisel from the workpiece. This hold-down is also reversible to allow stock from 0 to 5″ thick to be captured underneath it. The Jet 701 Benchtop Morticer has a quick-action cam lock that will quickly lock the fence into position with one 90° movement. This lock also features lock nuts, so once set they will not have to be continually adjusted. Set-up has never been easier or more precise. The Jet 701 Benchtop Morticer features an integrated bit and chisel spacer system. These two spacers are used to accurately and quickly account for the space needed between the bit and chisel during set-up. Large work surfaces in the table and fence allow for more stability and accurate cuts. The morticer also includes a large hinged chuck door with magnetic catch. This simple feature allows the user to easily access the drill chuck with the standard 4″ chuck key to lock the bit in place. In addition, its rack and pinion allow for simple and quick fence adjustments. Supplied with the morticer are a 13mm drill chuck, long chuck key, mounting collars for 5/8″, 3/4″ and 13/16″ chisels, tool tray and a diamond chisel sharpening cone. Powerful, heavy duty morticer with 19mm mortice capacity Input 1,000W motor for continuous operation Rack and pinion downfeed – handle fits on either side Adjustable rollers accurately locate timber against fence Ultra secure timber hold-down clamp Supplied with drill chuck, key, diamond sharpening cone and 3 chisel bushes
Jet 719A is an accurate and easy-to-use slotting machine for professional work with parts that fit at right angles. The model has a coordinate table with drives on the axes, adjustable with the help of rotating flywheels. This allows you to perform both longitudinal and transverse grooves, without removing the part and not loosening the clamp, which ensures ease of operation and high accuracy. The maximum height of the workpiece on the table is 195 mm - this is enough to work with parts of bindings and other elements of wooden structures. If you want to make a groove in the finished product (insert the lock in the door leaf, install a lock in the window frame, etc.), the column with the drilling part is reset, turning around the vertical axis by 180 °. In this position, they work "from the floor", using as an emphasis the linings of the desired thickness. The machine is equipped with a screw clamp for reliable fixation of parts on the desktop and an adjustable end stop for serial operation with the same parts.
