Ryder planes are suitable for home or professional use on the bench or on site. The No. 7, the longest of the Ryder planes, its length enables it to level bumps and hollows and leave a true edge for accurate edge jointing of boards. The No. 7 is useful for the final flattening of a surface before using a smoothing plane. Ryder planes are fitted with a British made high quality blade. The blade is O1 high carbon steel, 3mm thick and hardened to HRC 61-64. It is capable of holding a very fine edge. It is flat, well finished and comes with a 25° bevel. These quality blades require only minimal preparation before use from new.
