The Hollowmaster is the perfect complement to the Multi Tip Hollowing Tool. It uses the same unique design of a meaty ¾" flat shank which when laid on the tool rest gives ample support to prevent the tool from being turned over by the rotation of the wood. You are not fighting the laws of nature, but removing wood with ease. Its swan neck design means that the Hollowmaster can reach those spots which are often difficult to reach. Like the Multi Tip Hollowing Tool, the Hollowmaster also has interchangeable tips. For hollowing there is a rounded tip to give a nice sweeping curve in the turned vessel and for fine finishing there is a full round scraper cutter. Both tips are simply sharpened by means of a diamond hone or file. Replacement tips are readily available. An extra long version of the Hollowmaster (SOV-RS340) enable the turner to reach further into the worked vessel.

By far the most popular option is the Deluxe Universal Sharpening System (ref. 447) which combines the best features of the Fingernail Profiler (ref. 445) and the Universal Sharpening System (ref. 446). The reason is that in one unit there is the option of a wide range of woodworking tools. It is compact, flexible, solidly constructed, and easy to use. It takes all the guesswork out of returning tools to a more usable condition. Sharp tools make work so much more of a pleasure and take away a lot of frustrations. Always remember the key to good sharpening is little and often – do not wait until tools are blunt and practically unusable. All three options come with comprehensive fitting instructions. Turnmaster Mushroom Cutter is designed for undercutting mushroom shapes, but is also ideal for hollowing out small forms. The titanium nitride coating affords increased longevity of the cutter while at the same time relating ease of sharpness. Sharpening: Use a diamond file or honing stone around the profile of the cutter. To gain best results and increase the longevity of the cutter this simple procedure should be done little and often. Use the TurnMaster cutter holder to reshape the profile on the Robert Sorby ProEdge using a zirconium or ceramic belt or on a grinding wheel using a standard abrasive material.
