The Ryder Hobby Brass Plane. These planes are very useful for hobbyists for doing small precise jobs where a bigger plane would be too large. Manufactured from selected brass having a hard wood surface which is accurately ground. Blades are hardened and tempered. They are great for adjusting the soles of small planes, as well as for touch up on full size projects.

The Ryder No.5 is usually the first plane used on rough sawed timber. A No.5 is very versatile, used to flatten, size, square and smooth. The main casting is ductile iron chosen for its high strength and impact resistance. It has an adjustable frog, depth and lateral blade control and Indian hardwood handles.

The No.7 Jointer plane is designed for stock removal and truing long edges or levelling wide boards. Made with a quality grey cast iron body for strength and stability with precision ground base and sides for flatness and squareness. Machined seatings eliminate movement and blade judder. A lever cap with a brass locking screw secures the blade assembly and enables easy release for sharpening. Wooden handles and guidance knobs maximise user comfort. A solid brass blade adjustment nut completes the appeal of these traditional tools. Blade will require honing before use.

The graduated square is precision ground and blade hardened. The beams and blade are ground for parallelism. The accuracies is less than 0.001" deviation per inch over the entire length of the blade. Extremely useful for setting up workshop equipment.
