NOVA G3 Wood Turning Direct Threaded 1″ x 8TPI LH/RH is a 4 Jaw self centering reversible geared chuck, designed for the NOVA Comet II Mini Lathe. With unique NOVA features such as Auto Stop, Copper composite Jaw Slides, Woodworm Screw, Comfortable T Bar Handle and 2″ Jaws as standard, this chuck is fully featured. Powerful Tuff Lock gearing with precise, hardened action delivers incredibly smooth strength for a solid, vibration free performance. Takes the same accessory range as other NOVA Chucks. Direct threaded 1″x 8TPI RH/LH. Enhanced Jaw Gearing and Reverse Lock features that ensure this NOVA G3 Comet II Reversible chuck will remain engaged and locked on the spindle for use in forward and reverse. THIS G3 CHUCK IS NOT THE ”INSERT VERSION” BUT HAS A 1”X 8TPI UNC THREAD MACHINED IN THE BODY. IT WILL FIT DIRECTLY ON THE HEADSTOCK OF LATHES WITH A SIMILAR THREAD.

This precision machined live center features a triple bearing construction for heavy duty use and long life. Hollow center design makes it capable of accepting a 5/16" shell Auger for lamp stand boring. Threaded center has a 5/16" bolt so it can act as an arbor to mount a variety of projects and a miniature reverse cone function to centerless mount miniature round turnings (e.g. lace bobbins) up to 12mm (0.47"). All separate centers that fit into the Nova Live Center have a 2MT taper so they can be directly mounted to 2MT Tailstock spindle. The Nova Live Center System includes a large stepped cone able to handle centerless rounds up to 40mm (over 1-1/2"), a stepped cone that can be reversed to wedge fit hollow sections from 26mm (1") to 32mm (1-1/4"), and a threaded center with a screw that can mount special wooden supports.

NOVA Pen ‘Plus’ Jaws easily convert your NOVA chuck into a fast and accurate pen blank drilling facility. The big jaw profile provides a vibration free, solid grip for all sizes of pen blanks and an accurate centered hole every time. Being able to finely control the drill feed on the lathe is a big advantage to prevent break out on those delicate pen walls. Also perfect for squaring up the pen blank ends after gluing in the pen kit tubes.

The pen is easy to make and would suit beginners to pen turning.
