NOVA G3 Wood Turning Direct Threaded 1″ x 8TPI LH/RH is a 4 Jaw self centering reversible geared chuck, designed for the NOVA Comet II Mini Lathe. With unique NOVA features such as Auto Stop, Copper composite Jaw Slides, Woodworm Screw, Comfortable T Bar Handle and 2″ Jaws as standard, this chuck is fully featured. Powerful Tuff Lock gearing with precise, hardened action delivers incredibly smooth strength for a solid, vibration free performance. Takes the same accessory range as other NOVA Chucks. Direct threaded 1″x 8TPI RH/LH. Enhanced Jaw Gearing and Reverse Lock features that ensure this NOVA G3 Comet II Reversible chuck will remain engaged and locked on the spindle for use in forward and reverse. THIS G3 CHUCK IS NOT THE ”INSERT VERSION” BUT HAS A 1”X 8TPI UNC THREAD MACHINED IN THE BODY. IT WILL FIT DIRECTLY ON THE HEADSTOCK OF LATHES WITH A SIMILAR THREAD.

This Comet II Stand has a rugged tubular steel design and a weight capacity of 220 lbs. The stand easily adjusts from 6" to 7-11/16" wide on hole centers and 19-11/16" to 31-7/8" long on hole centers with a working height of 24-1/2" to 34-1/2" and easy-to-use leveling feet. This stand provides a mobile and stable work support for the Comet II Midi-Lathe. The stand also has v-style legs that allow for more room under the lathe for easy maneuvering. Featuring a specialised dovetail profile, these jaws are ideal for turning large bowls, green timber and hollow vessels. They combine the profile of our previously popular 100 mm dovetail jaws with a deep body and internal teeth to improve versatility. The outer dovetail jaws are ideal for large bowls or platters, particularly when gripping onto a spigot and the deep internal toothed body is ideal for large spigots of large hollow vessels.

These nylon jaws are designed specifically to be cut with standard turning tools. They can be easily shaped to create bespoke jaws to fulfil exacting requirements and offer excellent grip without marking the work piece.
