The Howard Butcher Block Conditioner is in my opinion, the best product to use when re-conditioning and re-seasoning all wooden products intended for kitchen/food use. I use this as the go-to product when I resurface my client's butcher blocks/cutting boards, and there is no product residue to go rancid. It also makes the items smell pleasant, removing any other old food odors which may still exist after resurfacing. It is absorbed quickly, but needs to be warmed up before use to get the best results with the product. All Howard products are US certified for food industry use. A little goes a long way, so even though the products are a bit pricy, they are value for money.
